Super
healthy antioxidants combo: ever so mighty Matcha and Blueberries! Featuring few almonds and plant milk; to kick start your day, immunity, energy level and to satisfy your taste buds too!
Matcha is something I recently grew to love. As a notorious coffee person, I slowly began my tea journey with black tea with milk and moved from there. I love the rich taste and flavours that vary in many subtle ways throughout different blends. But green tea, I must admit, didn’t make me as equally happy.
It’s an understatement that I really loved it! The rich, earthy, a little bit zingy but ever so invigorating flavour and creamy texture won me over. Therefore I began exploring all the beautiful ways to enjoy this super healthy, rich and delicious beverage.

And it’s no wonder I was head over heals. The best things, the most precious ones that bring us health and ease are always the “humblest” ones. The simplest. Because, what could be more simple than finely ground tea leaves? Half of teaspoon worth of something in the cup of water?
If you don’t know much about Matcha, I’ll be brief: it’s a traditional Japanese beverage made from ground green tea leaves, therefore, in a powder form. The powder gets poured over with a boiling water and whisked with a bamboo whisk and drank immediately. That is
Nowadays, Matcha gets all kinds of good uses: with added milk, fruit, in smoothies, cakes, it’s endless, really.
But the most important thing that makes Matcha so great are its health benefits:
- it boosts our immunity, energy level and our brain health;
- detoxifies our body and lowers our cholesterol;
- helps with weight loss;
- helps
keeping our hearts healthy, - and generally, makes us healthier, stronger and happier.

And then, the Blueberries came. OK, I’m pretty sure that Blueberries are few years older than Matcha powder, but nonetheless have pretty much the same benefits as Matcha. So what more can you ask from a beverage? Few almonds, for a nice crunch? And some smooth plant milk, like almond or coconut?
And there you go: even without a bamboo whisk, you’ll get the tastier, the most healthy and “all around boosting” beverage you can imagine. OK, you can imagine all kinds of other versions, of course. But you know what I mean, right? And I hope that you will, as I will too, go and make yourself a cup right now!

Blueberry Almond Matcha Latte
serves 2

2 tbsp sweetener of your choice (optional)
2 g / 1 scant teaspoon Matcha powder
2 generous tbsp Blueberries
Put everything in the blender, except blueberries. Whizz for a short min, until the almonds are nicely ground. Then add blueberries, pulse few more times and there it is.
Serve hot or cold, garnished with some ground nuts and blueberries.
