Creamy Vegan Hazelnut Chocolate Latte, whipped in a quick minute! Piping hot, silky milky mixture of chocolate and tiny, crunchy hazelnut bits, topped with some nice whipped cream, to warm up your winter days!
Creamy Vegan Hazelnut Chocolate Latte, your best choice for these cold days! I don’t know how’s the weather at your place these days, but here in Croatia, we are up to (or rather say, down to) the coldest days of this winter and with loads of snow. And kind of… we expected it for Christmas? But weather is one of those things that you cannot change or “edit” in any way, so it’s best to take it as it is. Because let’s be honest. As long as we are all OK, no massive or destructive climate disasters, everything is functioning just right in the city and there is really not much to fuss about. And we always have warm sweaters, boots and mittens, right?
Apart from warming us from outside, it’s always helpful to bring something nice and warm to our inside, so to speak. And what’s better than piping hot, delicious beverages? That’s why I came up with this creamy, chocolaty coffee that goes even beyond beverage and brings you something satisfying, almost kind of like you ate something crunchy and creamy.
This Latte is done in a quick min. How does it take to grind a handful of hazelnuts and warm up some milk? You can do it with chocolate or cocoa powder, but I preferred chocolate this time. As for the cream, you can use vegan whipped cream (I had one that came in powder) but it would be even more delicious if I had had some coconut cream. Well, I used all of it on my Vegan Butternut Cauliflower Curry which doesn’t ask for it in the recipe but surely adds more to it! If you ran out of the soy milk, you can quickly make homemade oat milk, or use any other plant milk you have on hand.

- 2 cups /500 ml plant milk of your choice
- 1 tbsp cocoa powder or 2 tbsp melted chocolate
- 1 tbsp maple syrup or other sweeteners to your choice
- 2 tsp Instant coffee
- Little pinch of salt
- 2 tbsp ground hazelnuts
- 2 - 4 tbsp Coconut or vegan whipped cream for topping
Grind hazelnuts in the food processor. Save some for garnishing.
Pour milk into the pot, add chocolate, maple syrup, coffee, a dash of salt and hazelnuts and bring to a boil, with constant stirring.
Whip up some coconut or vegan whipping cream.
Pour Latte into the cups, add a nice dollop of cream on top and sprinkle with some hazelnuts.
